Irish golfer Graeme McDowell won the Tiger Woods hosted World Challenge Golf Tournament in Ventura County for the second time in three years.
McDowell finished the tournament at the Sherwood Country Club at 17 under 271, for a three shot win over second place Keegan Bradley. Bo Van Pelt was third, followed by Tiger Woods.
The nationally televised tournament has been a major fundraiser for an educational foundation run by Woods, raising some $25 million dollars over the years.
However, this year the tournament didn’t have a title sponsor, so Woods reached into his own pocket to the tune of about four million dollars to insure the 14 year old event would continue.
