With Rain In Region, Shelters Opening For Homeless In Santa Barbara County

Wet, and cold weather is prompting the opening of some shelters for the homeless in Santa Barbara County.

The First United Methodist Church in Santa Barbara will be open to serve people with nowhere else to go overnight Friday. On Saturday night, the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Barbara will pick up shelter duties. Efforts are still underway to find temporary shelter locations in Goleta, Isla Vista, and Carpinteria.

Centers in Lompoc and Santa Maria will also be open this weekend.
