Ventura County Developing Guidelines For Cell Phone Facilities

Posted on Monday, November 12, 2012 1:10am

Ventura County planning officials are proposing to set up standards for cell phone facilities, to help with the handling of what could be a flood in new applications.

With many cell phone companies adding facilities to handle the latest generation of wireless service, which is 4G in many cases, county planners are anticipating a spike in the number of applications they receive.

The County’s Resource Management Agency-Planning Division is proposing to develop guidelines which are consistent with overall county plans, to try to streamline processing, and to reduce staff time involved. Planners are taking the issue to County Supervisors for their consideration tomorrow.
