A young woman who died after she was struck by multiple vehicles on the 101 Freeway in downtown Santa Barbara is now being identified.
The CHP says Hanna Stromberg was on the freeway with her dog at about 11 p.m. Saturday night near the Milpas Street offramp when they were struck. Investigators say it appears several vehicles hit the woman, with at least four of them stopping.
The 26 year old woman was a transient who was known to be staying in the Santa Barbara, and Ventura areas. She, and her dog were both pronounced dead at the scene. It’s unclear as to what the woman was doing on the freeway.
