A Ventura County man on trial for hitting, and killing a bicyclist with his SUV decided to instead enter a guilty plea to second degree murder, and DUI charges.
Prosecutors say Satnam Singh was driving on Telegraph Road in May of last year when he was involved in a series of accidents.
He first hit a mother and daughter on bikes, injuring both of them, then struck a pickup truck, injuring the three people inside. Then, Singh struck and killed Nicholas Haverland, a 20-year old college student who was riding his bicycle. The man drove to his home, where he was later arrested.
Singh faces a sentence of 15 years, to life.
