Authorities are investigating the theft of an armored car from the parking lot of a school district’s headquarters in Ventura County.
It happened at around Friday this morning, at the offices of the Conejo Valley Unified School District, on the 1400 block of East Janss Road in Thousand Oaks.
The two armored car employees had gone into the office complex to make a pickup, and when they returned, the vehicle was missing.
It was found a short time later, a few blocks away, and Ventura County Sheriff’s department officials believe money had been taken from the vehicle.
The district’s offices were briefly placed on lockdown as a precaution after the theft was discovered. No one was hurt, and no arrests have been made.
