Foundation Awards More Than $570,000 In Grants To Non-Profits In Ventura County

A Ventura County based non-profit organization has awarded more than $570,000 worth of grants to non-profit agencies in the region.

The Martin V. and Martha K. Smith Foundation announced a series of grants to 13 local organizations, ranging from the FOOD Share foodbank, to Camarillo Hospice, and the Ventura College Foundation.

The money will be used for everything from providing food, and shelter for those in need to funding ten community college scholarships.

The foundation was created by a prominent Ventura County businessman, and developer and his wife as a way of giving back to the community.
