Ventura County Firefighters Battling Brush Fire In Eastern Part Of County

Posted on Sunday, August 26, 2012 10:24am

Ventura County firefighters are battling a brushfire in a remote area of the county, near the Ventura-Los Angeles County line.

The 30 acre blaze was first reported at around 8:30 Sunday morning, off of Highway 126 near the Newhall Ranch area. Dozens of Ventura County firefighters aided by helicopters have been fighting the fire with the help of water dropping helicopters.

No structures are reported to be in immediate danger. Firefighters have to contend with the heat, but say there isn’t much wind, so the blaze has been moving slowly.

There’s no word on what sparked the fire, or when firefighters think they will have it contained.
