The South Coast is home to the newest campus in the Cal State University system.

What was once a state hospital in the foothills of Camarillo was expanded, and developed into Cal State Channel Islands, which teaches thousands of students annually, and contributed more than $110 million dollars to the region’s economy each year.

This month, CSUCI is kicking off a celebration of its tenth anniversary.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco talks with the University’s president, who helped open the campus, as well as one of the first students to graduate after going all four years to the new college.
