A new Santa Barbara County Grand Jury report says the County, and the City Of Lompoc should have done more to oversee a failed housing agency in Lompoc.

The report says that the Lompoc Housing and Community Development Corporation regularly overcharged tenants, and didn’t submit audited financial statements, yet there were no consequences. It says there was a failure by the county, and city to enforce the housing agency’s loan commitments.

One of the major Grand Jury recommendations is that the County conduct an annual audit of any organization which receives more than $100,000 in county funds, to ensure everything is being conducted properly.
