Public Safety Agencies Join Forces For Coastal Protection Exercise

Posted on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 12:35am

Securing our coastline is the focus of a drill involving more than 30 public safety agencies on the South Coast this week.

What’s known as “Coastal Trident 2012” is set to take place today through Thursday off the Ventura County coastline.

The drills will focus on improving the abilities of agencies to work together to deal with narcotics trafficking, and human smuggling, as well as increasing the ability to protect maritime resources.

Agencies taking part range from the Port of Hueneme, to the Coast Guard, and the Ventura County Fire, and Sheriff’s Departments.
