A man who’s already a familiar face in Ventura County’s educational community has been named the new head of the controversy plagued Rio School District.
John Puglisi will take over as Rio’s superintendent July first. He’s moving from the single school Mesa School District.

The district has fired its last three superintendents in a row for various reasons, and has had labor problems with its teachers union for years.
