A 26 year old Santa Barbara woman was fatally injured, and a second woman seriously injured when they were struck by a vehicle in the Summerland area.
The CHP is still trying to figure out what happened, but investigators say the two were apparently trying to cross East Valley Road, at Sheffield Drive when they were struck at around 6 a.m. yesterday. The vehicle which hit them apparently fled the scene.
The injured young women were driven to Cottage Hospital by a good Samaritan, where the most seriously injured of the two died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Her name hasn’t been released yet.
The CHP is looking for eyewitnesses, or anyone who might know anything about the accident.
