Simi Valley Police Say Murder In City Not Random Act

Posted on Monday, June 4, 2012 12:43am

Simi Valley Police are now saying that the death of a woman whose body was found in her home in the city was not a random act of violence.

The body of Janice Somple was found by an acquaintance in her home on the 1500 block of Carmen Drive at around 8 Thursday night. The 65 year old retired schoolteacher had been stabbed.

Detectives say they’ve developed significant leads in the case, which they say extends beyond Simi Valley, and shows that it wasn’t a random act of violence. Because they are still looking for a suspect, they’re not releasing additional details at this time.
