Authorities are continuing to look for the mother of what they now say was a full term baby found dead in a strawberry field near Oxnard.
An autopsy failed to disclose an obvious sign of death for the baby, who was found Monday morning by a worker on the 3200 block of Central Avenue. Additional test results are still pending. They still aren’t saying if it was a boy, or girl.
Ventura County Sheriff’s department officials say the case is being handled as a homicide. They say there were indications the baby was delivered at the scene.
Detectives are hoping someone will have noticed someone whose pregnancy ended over the weekend, with no sign of a baby.
