Little Known Community On South Coast Fights Back Against Bullying

Posted on Monday, May 21, 2012 11:49am

The South Coast is a melting pot of cultures. There’s one little known community here of more than 20,000 people who come from an isolated part of Mexico, so remote, that they have their own languages, and don’t even speak Spanish.

The are Oaxacans, from southwestern Mexico.

Members of the community say they don’t get the respect they deserve, and have been the target of bullying, and discrimination. KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports on an awareness effort launched by the community to try to improve how it’s treated by others.
