Posted on Thursday, May 17, 2012 3:14pm

An illegal drug sales investigation in Santa Barbara County led to six arrests, including one man who didn’t want to surrender, and held off authorities in a brief standoff.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives, and Santa Maria Police arrested four men, and two women in the Santa Maria and Orcutt areas.

One man, Danny Chambers, refused to let officers in when they arrived at a Santa Maria home with a search warrant last night. They contacted the 22 year old man by phone, and he surrendered peacefully. He was arrested on drug, weapons, gang, and probation violation charges. The other five face a variety of charges ranging from drug dealing, to weapons possession.
