Conejo Valley Putting Hundreds Of Thousands Of Ladybugs To Work

Posted on Thursday, May 17, 2012 12:35am

One Ventura County is using nature to battle an insect problem which is affecting the community’s ash trees.

The City of Thousand Oaks released hundreds of thousands of ladybugs yesterday at Triunfo Community Park The hope is that the more than 700,000 ladybugs will deal with the white fly, and aphid problem in the area. The ladybugs are a low cost, and more environmentally friendly approach to deal with the insect problem than pesticides.
