Ventura Police say a number of people arrested on DUI charges in the city have been driving with suspended or revoked licenses, so they decided to try to target them with a special enforcement sweep.
After looking at conviction and arrest data, police set up stakeouts outside of 17 individuals homes. Police say they focused on drivers with multiple convictions, who could potentially pose a risk to public safety.
The operation this week led to 8 people being cited for driving with a suspended or revoked license, or simply no license at all. Four vehicles were towed, and seven people were cited for other vehicle code violations.
