101 Freeway In Ventura County To Face Series Of Overnight Closures For Construction For The Next Week

Posted on Monday, May 14, 2012 8:54am

It’s going to be a detour-filled week for people who use the 101 Freeway during the overnight hours in Ventura County.
The northbound 101 Freeway will be closed between Camarillo and Oxnard from just before midnight tonight, to around 5 tomorrow morning as part of a new freeway interchange project. Traffic will be routed around the work on surface streets.

Overnight Wednesday and Thursday nights, the southbound lanes of the 101 will be close to allow the construction project to continue.

Then, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, the 101 will be closed in both directions in Ventura, for a project to clean up graffiti on a train trestle over the freeway, and to install lighting, fencing, and other barriers to try to keep it clean.

The full freeway closures will extend from Ventura Avenue, to Seaward Avenue.
Traffic will be routed around the work onto surface streets.
