The federal government has awarded the non-profit Clinicas Del Camino Real in Ventura County close to $3.2 million dollars to renovate, and improve its facilities.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded the money to the Clinicas as part of $122 million dollars being distributed nationwide as a part of the government’s Affordable Care Act.
The goal is to help the Clinicas expand its capacity to better serve existing patients, and to handle new ones. It currently operates 13 full services facilities, as well as mobile medical, and dental units. While they serve a wide range of patients, they try to target underserved populations like farmworkers, and their families.
