Oxnard Man Gets 16 Years To Life In Prison For Fatal Stabbing

Posted on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 12:10am

A Ventura County man has been sentenced to 16 years to life in prison, after the man he fatally wounded identified him as his attacker before he died.

Oxnard Police say in February of 2010, Salvador Tena stabbed Candido Monge in the parking lot of a restaurant on the 300 block of Cooper Road.

The 65 year Oxnard man died the next day, but not before identifying Tena, who is also from Oxnard, as his attacker. There were no witnesses to the murder.

A jury found the 56-year-old man guilty of second degree murder, with use of a knife.
