One man has been arrested, and two are still being sought following a shooting early this morning near the Ventura Pier.

Ventura Police say the victim, and a friend were walking in the area at around 2:30 this morning when they were approached by a trio of people, demanding money. When he refused to comply, he was shot in the leg.

The three men then tried to flee. Ventura Police say one of them, 19 year old Jesse Dominguez of Oxnard, was arrested as he was trying to hide in a nearby hotel parking lot. He was booked into the Ventura County Jail for attempted robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon.

The 23 year old victim was treated, and released at a Ventura Hospital for what police say was a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
