Posted on Monday, April 30, 2012 1:37pm

Simi Valley Police say that a three month long investigation has led to the breakup of a ring which they say was supplying a significant amount of heroin in the city.

Detectives served search warrants at two Simi Valley locations, and arrested 27 year old Kelly Diaz, and 20 year old Oscar Ramirez.

Investigators say they seized about half a pound of black tar heroin, as well as some cocaine, and methamphetamine.

The detectives say the two Simi Valley residents were dealing what they call as “significant” amount of heroin in the city.

The city, and community residents have been trying to tackle the heroin problem, after a significant spike in heroin related overdoses, and deaths in the community in the last year.
