Food tainted by salmonella has been a safety concern across the country during the last few years.
There were more than a dozen salmonella outbreaks of different types in the U.S. alone this year. Now, researchers at UC Santa Barbara say they’ve discovered a super bug version of salmonella, which is up to 100 times more potent than other types of the bacteria.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco talks with some of the scientists who discovered the strains of the bacteria, and are now trying to develop a vaccine for the newly identified type of vaccine.
