Woman Sentenced To Jail For Traffic Accident Which Caused Death Of Well Known Santa Barbara County Businessman

A woman has been sentenced to 300 days in jail after pleading no contest to a vehicular manslaughter charge for a traffic accident last year which caused the death of a prominent Santa Barbara County businessman.

Prosecutors say Elvia Tello crossed double yellow lines on a curve on West Betteravia Road near Guadalupe while trying to pass a truck, causing a head on accident. Tello, and the other driver were both seriously injured in the March 25th, 2011 accident.

The passenger in the other vehicle who was fatally inured was Clarence Minetti.

Minetti was a well known rancher, and businessman who was involved in many community projects, like the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo.

The 93 year old man died several days after the accident from his injuries.
