Wild Pursuit, Foot Chase Leads To Three Arrests In Santa Barbara

Posted on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 3:23pm

A gang fight in Santa Barbara led to a wild car chase, a traffic accident, and the arrest of three 18 year olds who tried to escape on foot.

It started just before 10 last night, on the 1200 block of East Mason Street in Santa Barbara. Police responding to calls of a fight didn’t see anyone at the scene, but then noticed a sedan fleeing the area.

They gave chase, but the pursuit didn’t last long.

The car ran into a light pole at the intersection of Gutierrez, and Chapala Street.

The three young men tried to flee on foot, but one quickly surrendered following a short chase, a second was tackled by officers, and a third had to be tasered before surrendering.

They’re facing a variety of charges, including resisting arrest.
