Boy Bitten By Pit Bull In Oxnard Will Have To Undergo Painful Rabies Shots If Dog Isn’t Found

The search for a pit bull dog which bit a two year old boy in the face in Oxnard has taken on extra urgency, because if the dog isn’t found, the youngster will have to undergo painful rabies shots.

It happened just after 1:30 yesterday afternoon, at a home on the 1200 block of South J Street. Police say the boy was a visitor at the home, and was holding some food when he was attacked.

The wounds are described as serious, but not life threatening. The dog fled from the home after the attack, and has not been caught yet.

The dog is describes as a white male pit bull, with no obvious markings.
