Water District Serving Westlake Village, Agoura Hills Looks At System Upgrade

Posted on Thursday, March 22, 2012 1:08am

A local water district is holding a special workshop in Westlake Village this weekend, to outline plans for some major improvements to its system, including construction of a new five million gallon water tank.

The Las Virgenes Municipal Water District is trying to increase its storage capacity, so it won’t have to buy extra Metropolitan Water District of Southern California water at expensive peak times.

The five million dollar tank is proposed for Las Virgenes Lake, in Westlake Village.

The water district says it’s been saving money for the project, and will be able to build it without hike water rates.

The community meeting on the project will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, at White Oak Elementary School, in Westlake Village.

The district serves some 65,000 customers from Westlake Village, and Agoura Hills to Calabasas, and Hidden Hills.
