A new affordable housing complex for farmworkers in Ventura County has opened for its first residents, and another for people with special needs will open in the county soon.
The Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation’s “Camino Gonzales” complex is 18 one, two and three bedroom apartments on a one acre lot on the 400 block of West Gonzales Road, in Oxnard.
The apartments were built as attached townhomes.
It’ll be managed in conjunction with another new development, a 25 unit complex being built adjacent to the just opened apartments.
The Paseo de Luz apartments will focus on supplying housing for people with special needs.
That complex, also being built by Cabrillo, is expected to open around the end of this month.
