Health Care Agency In Ventura County Hit By Controversy Appoints Interim CEO

Posted on Friday, March 16, 2012 12:06am

An health care agency in Ventura County hit by controversy has appointed an interim CEO, to take over for one who unexpectedly resigned.  Dr. Charles Cho has been appointed to manage the Gold Coast Health Plan.

Cho has been serving as the plan’s Chief Medical Officer.

He takes over for Earl Greenia, who resigned without an official explanation earlier this month.  There have been concerns about staff turnover, the organization’s financial reserves, and complaints from service providers about late payments.

A committee appointed by the County’s Medi-Cal Managed Care Commission chose Dr. Cho to take over daily management of the agency.

The Health Plan is an agency created to handle Medi-Cal Services in Ventura County.  It went online last summer to provide managed health care services for 100,000 Ventura County residents.
