Four Hour Armed Standoff In Ventura Ends With Peaceful Arrest Of Suspect In Two Murders

Posted on Friday, March 16, 2012 4:56pm

Ventura Police say an armed, and dangerous suspect in two murders has been arrested following a four hour standoff at a condominium complex.

Police received information this morning from authorities in Hanford that Jason Reyes might be at the condo, which is on the 1300 block of Saratoga Avenue.

As a precaution, they called out a “SWAT” team, and evacuated neighbors.

Reyes finally surrendered at about 4 p.m.

Police say he did have a gun.

The 35 year old San Bernardino County man is wanted for the fatal shooting of a man in Hanford earlier this month, and also by authorities in Hayward for a killing in that Bay Area community.
