Former Santa Barbara County Supervisor Officially In Race For State Senate Seat

Posted on Thursday, March 8, 2012 12:42am

A former Santa Barbara County Supervisor entered the race for a State Senate seat representing parts of Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties with not one, not two, but three separate news conferences throughout the region yesterday.

Republican Mike Stoker is running for the 19th District State Senate seat.

Stoker ran unsuccessfully for the 35th District Assembly seat two years ago.

He’s hoping to take over the post currently held by Republican Tony Strickland, who is running for the new 26th District Congressional seat in Ventura County.

Former Democratic Assemblywoman Hanna Beth Jackson is also officially in the race, while Oxnard Harbor Commissioner Jason Hodge is expected to make his announcement that he’s in the race soon.
