Santa Barbara County Based Relief Agency Ships Medicine, Medical Supplies To Tornado Ravaged Midwest Communities

A Santa Barbara County based relief agency has shipped more than a quarter of a million dollars worth of medicine, and medical supplies to Midwest communities which have been ripped by tornadoes.

Direct Relief International has made emergency shipments to medical facilities in Kansas, and Illinois, with more planned for Kansas, and Illinois.   The agency says it’s been in touch with more than 100 clinics, and health centers in affected areas to help assess their needs.  DRI officials put the estimated value of the items shipped to the disaster region so far at $280,000.
