Dykstra had entered no contest please to grand theft auto, and to providing a false financial statement.  Prosecutors say he had been involved in a scheme to lease high end cars using fraudulent financial information.

The onetime Simi Valley businessman, and Lake Sherwood resident has had a number of financial, and legal problems over the last few years.  The 49 year old man was also arrested last year on drug charges, with those counts eventually being dropped.

He received the three year sentence after a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge refused the former ballplayer’s efforts to withdraw his no contest plea, and fight the charges against him.
