It looks like pro football is going to be returning to Ventura County for sure in 2012.
The Dallas Star Telegram is reporting on its website that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says the team is headed to Oxnard for camp this summer.
The City of Oxnard had missed a deadline to secure the right to use some vacant property next to the Residence Inn Oxnard River Ridge, where the team has trained six times before in the last decade. The 19 acres of land used for parking, and concessions is in foreclosure, and the city has been trying to work out a deal to use it.
But, despite the unanswered questions about the property, the team has apparently decided it’s coming to Oxnard this summer, which is good news for the city, because of the media exposure, and millions in visitor dollars it brings to the community.
