Authorities Issue Warnings About Two Different Rashes Of Burglaries On South Coast

Posted on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 12:30am

Authorities in two different South Coast communities have issued warnings about some strings of burglaries, and are asking residents to be alert for suspicious activity.

In Oxnard, police say they are investigating at least four daytime burglaries which occured in the Rio Linda area in the last week.  The burglar stole cash, electronics, and jewelry.  Detectives say in each of the incidents, the burglar gained access to the home through an unlocked door, or window.

Meanwhile, in Goleta a man posing as a magazine salesman burglarized at least two homes in the area of Scripps Crescent Street.  Investigators say the man would knock on a home’s door, and if no one answered, would look for an open window, or door.  He stole money, checks, and prescription drugs from at least two homes.
