Man Sentenced To 21 Years Behind Bars For Fatal Shooting In Westlake Village

Posted on Saturday, February 4, 2012 9:32am

A man convicted of manslaughter in the shooting death of a college art instructor in Westlake Village party has been sentenced to more than two decades in prison.

A jury convicted Steven Honma of voluntary manslaughter, and use of a firearm for the March, 2010 death of Norman Schureman.

The 50 year old victim was a relative of the host of the party at a Westlake Village home.  Homna was a guest at the party.

Prosecutors say he became intoxicated, and was asked to leave, but came back armed with knifes and guns.  Schureman was fatally wounded as partygoers tried to disarm the man.

Honma received a 21 year prison sentence for the fatal shooting of the college instructor.
