Police Say Two Robbers In Ventura Stabbed By Victim

Posted on Monday, December 19, 2011 11:11am

Two would be robbers in Ventura ended up in the hospital, after they were stabbed by the person police say they attacked.

It happened around 10 last night (12/18), near Seaward Avenue and Harbor Boulevard in Ventura.  Detectives say a 21 year old man was lured to the area near Pierpoint Elementary School by two young women, who called him, asked him to meet them.  Two young men then approached the car, and began to attack the victim, who eventually pulled out a pocketknife, and fought back.

Police say one of the attackers, Ronald Newcombe of Santa Paula, was seriously injured.  A teen attacker, who was 15, suffered minor stab wounds.  They are facing robbery, conspiracy, and gang related charges, as are the two young women police say lured the victim to the scene.  The robbery victim wasn’t seriously injured.
