High Wind, Freeze Warnings In Forecasts For Parts Of Ventura, Santa Barbara Counties

Posted on Monday, December 5, 2011 3:25pm

A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for parts of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, as high wind continues to keep the potential in place for brushfires.

Wind in the 20 to 30 mile an hour range is impacting parts of coastal Ventura County, with gusts approaching 50 miles an hour.  Slightly higher wind velocities are being reported in Ventura County’s mountains.

The wind is predicted to ease this evening, but could peak up steam overnight (12/5), and into midday tomorrow.

Along with the wind, we could see some very chilly overnight lows, even down into the 20’s and 30’s in parts of the region.

There’s a freeze warning in effect overnight for the Ojai, and Santa Ynez Valleys, and we could see some frost in southern Santa Barbara County.
