Pursuit In Ventura County Tops 100 Miles An Hour Before Car Is Stopped

Posted on Friday, December 2, 2011 12:19am

A San Fernando Valley man is facing multiple criminal charges in Ventura County, after law enforcement officers say he led them on a high speed chase, topping 100 miles an hour at times.

It started just before 1 p.m. yesterday, on Victoria Avenue in Oxnard.  Port Hueneme Police tried to stop a car which they say was involved in a hit and run accident, and was speeding.

The vehicle got on the southbound 101 Freeway, where the CHP picked up the chase.

The car eventually got off the 101 at Del Norte Boulevard, and headed back into Oxnard, where two CHP vehicles finally pinned the vehicle.

With the help of a K-9 unit, Salvador Chavez Lopez was arrested.  The 25 year old man is facing resisting arrest, felony evading, DUI, and other charges.
