A longtime Ventura County Superior Court Judge has retired.
Judge Edward Brodie stepped down this week, after nearly two decades on the bench.
Brodie dedicated most of his life to public service. He was a CHP officer for more than a decade, before becoming a Deputy Public Defender in Ventura County, and then an attorney in the Ventura County District Attorney’s office.
In 1992, Brodie was elected as a Municipal Court judge, and in 1998, he became a Superior Court judge.
Presiding Judge Vincent O’Neill says Brodie will be missed, calling him a hard working member of the court who skillfully, and thoughfully handled criminal cases.
