A Ventura County firefighter suffered minor injuries battling an early morning fire, which heavily damaged a two story home in Thousand Oaks.
The blaze was reported just after two a.m., on the 1600 block of York Place. The two adults, and two children in the home were able to escape safely. But, the fire caused heavy damage to the house, taking firefighters close to an hour to fully control.
The Red Cross was on scene to help the family displaced by the blaze.
Investigators are still trying to determine what started the fire.
One firefighter was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries he received at the scene, but he was later released.
