Posted on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 1:12am

They weren’t always necessarily the top vote getters, but incumbent city council candidates all won reelection in Ventura, Westlake Village, and Agoura Hills municipal elections yesterday.

In Ventura, incumbent Ventura City Council members Carl Morehouse, and Christy Weir both won reelection in Tuesday’s election.  But, the top vote getter was Cheryl Heitman, whose’s best known in the community as Executive Director of the Ventura Music Festival.  The three candidates received about 15% of the total votes each, easily outdistancing the other eight candidates in the 11 person field.

In Westlake Village, there were three candidates seeking two seats.  Incumbents Ned Davis and Phillipa Klessig were the top two vote getters, with Klessig apparently edging out the third candidate, former councilman Chris Mann, by abouy 39 votes.

And in Agoura Hills, where there were four candidates for two City Council seats, challenger Illece Weber received the most votes, with 32% of the total.  Incumbent John Edelston kept his seat on the council, with 31% of the total vote.
