Posted on Monday, October 17, 2011 7:14am

The Ronald Reagan Presidential library in Simi Valley has set up a memorial wreath on a race car on display at the library, which is one of the cars driven by an Indy driver killed in a massive racing accident in Las Vegas yesterday.

Dan Wheldon died from injuries suffered in a massive 15 car pileup at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The 33 year old driver had won the Indianapolis 500 twice.

Wheldon was a Reagan Foundation supporter.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of Reagan’s birth this year, he had the celebration’s centennial seal on the car he won the Indy 500 with in May.

A wreath has been placed on Wheldon’s 98 show car, which is part of a race car display at the library in Simi Valley.
