Two Men Arrested In Connection With Forged Check Scheme In Ventura County

Posted on Saturday, October 15, 2011 7:32am

Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Detectives have arrested two men, in connection with what they call a forged traveler’s check operation in Southern California.

Detectives say Jullius Williams, and Kenneth Blanton targeted TJ Maxx stores throughout the region, including the one in Moorpark.  The investigators say the two men would buy a low priced item, with a cost of around $10.00, with a phony $100.00 American Express Travelers Check, and then pocket about $90.00 in change.

After identifying the two Los Angeles men as the suspects, the detectives learned they were both on parole for similar past forgery incidents.  The investigators had the men arrested by their parole officers.
