Santa Barbara County Folding Department Into Another To Save Hundreds Of Thousands Of Dollars

Financially strapped Santa Barbara County is hoping to save more than $400,000 a year by eliminating its Human Resources Department as a stand-alone department.

County Supervisors approved a plan to fold management of the department into the County’s Executive office.

Money would be saved by not filling the currently vacant Human Resource’s Director’s post, as well as by merging some services, and improving efficiencies
