A groundbreaking ceremony is being held to begin construction of a new, six story, Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura.
The facility will be located adjacent to the existing hospital and will feature two wings and more than 325,000 square feet of medical and administrative space. Plans call for an expansion of emergency medical services, a new critical care department and ten state-of-the-art surgical suites.
The current Community Memorial facility was constructed in 1962. Groundbreaking for the new building is scheduled 5:30 pm-7:00 pm Wednesday.
