Posted on Saturday, September 3, 2011 12:55am

A nearly $600,000 NASA grant is going to help some Ventura County high school students learn about climate change.

Cal State Channel Islands is one of 14 institutions nationwide to receive a NASA Minority University Research Grant.  The grant targets schools with a high population of Hispanic students, who are underrepresented in fields like science, math, and engineering.  The two year grant will be used to provide extra training for teachers at eight schools, and summer camps for high school students.
