Prosecutors Say Ventura County Based Real Estate Fraud Operation Steals More Than $3 Million

Three people have been arrested, after authorities in Ventura County say they stole more than $3 million dollars from real estate investors, using radio shows to attract their victims.

Kenneth Powell of Bakersfield, Katie Bess Rose Of Woodland Hills, and Paul Lascola of Thousand Oaks were arrested on charges ranging from land fraud, to misappropriation of investor funds.  They were involved in three different programs on a Ventura County radio station from 2006 to 2008, called “Money Intelligence”, “Academy Of Real Estate”, and “The Ken and Katie Show”.

Investigators from the Ventura County Sherrif”s Department, the Ventura Police Department, and the Ventura County District Attorney’s office says many of the victims were seniors, and lived in Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles Counties.
